My Hubs and his Heart

I have to tell this story...

Byron left last night to run up to Walgreen's. We needed more vapor pads for Ethan's humidifier, so he ran up there around 8:45 or so. When he returned he came in the office where I was with this huge smile on his face. He had just done something really nice and felt so good about it.

While at Walgreen's he was in line to pay behind a teenage boy. He heard the clerk tell the boy his total was $4.11. The boy slowly pulls out his wallet to find that he did not have enough money. He told the clerk sadly that he would come back. When he walked off Byron noticed that he was trying to buy a card that said on the front "Happy Birthday Dad". Byron immediately told the clerk to charge him for the card and ran out the door to catch the boy. The boy was completely shocked to find out that Byron bought this for him. He asked Byron why and he told him that he has a new son at home and was touched by this. The boy said, "God Bless You" and walked to his car. Byron went back in to pay and came home. He felt so good to be able to help someone out like that. Even if it was just $4, it made that boys night and Byron's too. It just plain feels good to do nice things for people! The world needs more people like Byron in it. I am so honored to be married to someone who has a heart as big as he does.

Love You Babe!

  1. I just choked up. That is such a great story and Byron is such a good man. I'm sure that boy will never forget his generosity. Wow.
